Today everyone is on the gluten free wagon. Have you ever asked: How did we get here? Is it just another fad? What is gluten? These are questions that boggle the minds of many. To answer the question what is gluten? Gluten is a combination of proteins found in wheat, barley and rye which is the substance that causes food to stick together. and keep its shape. The truth is that unless you have Celiac disease or a wheat sensitivity we should have gluten in our diets. I'm a firm believer that if you eat foods that contain little to no preservatives you will be a healthier person. Approximately 15 years ago as I was meditating one morning God revealed to me that I did not grow up eating foods that contained a bunch of preservatives so why should I be feeding my family a bunch of unhealthy foods. This is when I changed the eating habits for my household. I purchase only fresh and frozen foods while trying to avoid canned foods as much as possible. The benefits have resulted in a family that is healthy and rarely get a cold or virus. I encourage everyone to research food trends and do what is in the best interest of your health.
